MEN’S MEXICO TRIP
The Men’s Trip strived to follow the Mission values of Fellowship Church.
Focus (on specific areas)
Be Relationship
Intensive
Maintain long term commitments
All the men that served in Tijuana had previous experience serving there. The team’s objective this year was to establish new relationships and deepen existing ones with the men of Pastor Albert’s Church. We had 2 projects this year which were avenues to reach this goal.
One was to construct 5 bed rooms for the women at the new Battered Women’s Shelter, and install electrical wiring and plumbing in the new Kindergarten building located at Pastor Albert’s Church. On both projects men from Pastor Albert’s Church worked side by side with the men of Fellowship. We laughed, cried, played (boys will be boys), prayed for each other, and had a great time just being men. On one occasion we all gathered together in the kitchen at the church. This was a time of deep personal sharing. Men from both cultures sharing their heart concerning struggles and pain of the heart (past and present) and how Christ has been their Rock during these times. This was a safe place to share, and minister to each other. From this time of sharing, we all determined all of us have similar struggles and pain no matter where we live or what country we are from and that Christ is the answer. When we left to come home, there were a lot of tears and Men telling each other they loved each other.

COLLEGE MEXICO TRIP
The college ministry took a trip to Mexico the week of May 17th-24th. Our first day of work in Mexico involved fixing up the home of a lady who is involved at Pastor Albert’s church. The lady and her 2 children live in a home that is literally on the side of a hill.
Our team had difficulty carrying materials to fix her home up the hill, but took strength in knowing, “if this lady and her children can do this every day, surely we can do it today!” We had three projects for this home: put on a new shingle roof, paint the home and repair the back wall. Because her home sits on the side of the hill the dirt would fall down the hill and lay against the back wall of her home. Eventually the weight of the dirt began to push in the back wall. Some of the men from the rehab center at Pastor Albert’s came and helped us dig out the dirt that was pushing up against her house. Then, under the leadership of Dan Kuban, our group straightened the wall and put in more supports to hold the wall in place. Once we finished repairing the wall the resident called Dan back into the room and tried to communicate something to Dan in Spanish. At first Dan could not understand what she was saying. Was she talking about angels, wings, God, support? Then it connected- the lady was saying, “Thank you so much, now the angels will not have to hold up our wall.” Wow. This lady had been praying for God to send angels to hold up her wall and He had. But now God sent angels in the form of college students from Tennessee to hold up her wall. It was a great example of us being the hands, feet, support and care of Christ to the world.” This is your Generosity at Work,
