C. Europe
In 1989, the Soviet Union collapsed and the Iron Curtain fell. The Evangelical Free Church of America (that’s our church’s association) responded to the call of God to go forth from Western Europe and into former Soviet satellite countries to rebuild the church through church planting.
We serve Central Europe through the Evangelical Free Church of America. The EFCA Missions organization in Central Europe is focused on planting indigenous churches in former communist countries. The EFCA Missionary families, of which there are more than 50, work alongside indigenous people in places like Germany, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and others, to plant and grow new churches. We are called mainly to serve and encourage these missionary families by ministering to their children at their annual mission conference in January in Hungary. One FEFC family, Mike and Debbie Edwards and their kids, serves in Germany. Another, Loren and Christina Ozanne, are presently preparing to go to Poland.
