David & Debbie Mai: Southeast Asia
David and Debbie are FEFC members who came from a closed country in which the church was, and still is, persecuted. They now pastor a local church here in Knoxville that serves people who have come here from that same country. The Mais also travel back to Southeast Asia to help our church in our ministry there. They play a very significant role in our ministry in Southeast Asia. In fact, God has placed them here as an essential link for us. Because of who they are, and how they are recognized and loved in their country, they can leap over cultural barriers that would otherwise impede our ability to enter into relationship there. Because of the Mais, we can enter this unique culture in a fraction of the time that it would take us if we went there as outsiders.
